Terms of Service

Last updated September 20, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and BRND Creative Inc. for altr.bio and everything on it. Read them before you build an ALTR or send a gift.

1. Who we are

altr.bio is operated by BRND Creative Inc., a Delaware corporation at 131 Continental Dr, Suite 305, Newark, DE 19713, United States. In these terms “we” and “us” mean that company, and “you” means the person using the service.

By creating an account, building an ALTR, or sending a message or gift, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. You must be 18 or older

Everyone on altr.bio — creators and fans alike — must be at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to open an account, chat with an ALTR, or receive money through the service.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and refund or withhold any balance as the law requires.

3. What an ALTR is, and what it is not

An ALTR is a software persona. It writes with a language model in a voice and within limits that a creator sets. It is not the creator, it is not a person, and nothing it says is a statement by the creator.

Every ALTR is labelled as AI wherever a fan can talk to it. You may not remove, hide, or contradict that label.

An ALTR can be wrong. Do not rely on it for medical, legal, financial, or safety decisions.

4. Accounts and addresses

You are responsible for what happens under your account and for keeping your sign-in details to yourself.

An address such as altr.bio/yourname is licensed to you while your account is in good standing; you do not own it. We may reclaim an address that impersonates someone, infringes a trademark, is used for abuse, or has never been published.

5. Real names and faces need verification

Only the verified owner of an account may build an ALTR that uses that person’s real name, likeness, or voice. Verification means proving control of the social account you are claiming.

Building an ALTR of someone else without their verified consent is impersonation. One report is enough for us to take it down while we look, and we may close the account behind it.

A fictional character you created is yours to build. A character you do not own may infringe someone else’s rights, and that is on you.

6. Your material stays yours

You keep ownership of everything you give us — your posts, captions, photos, voice, and the rules you write for your ALTR.

You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, adapt, and display that material for one purpose: running the service you asked for, including sending it to the AI providers listed in our Privacy Policy so your ALTR can answer. The licence lasts while your ALTR is live and for a short period afterwards while backups age out.

You confirm you have the right to give us that material, and that using it does not break anyone else’s rights or a contract you signed with someone else.

7. What you may not do here

We filter messages in both directions and we act on reports. We can remove content, suspend an ALTR, or close an account when these rules are broken.

  • Sexually explicit content, of any kind, generated or uploaded. Warmth is allowed; explicit is not, no matter what anyone types.
  • Anything involving minors, or content that sexualizes a person who appears to be a minor.
  • Impersonating a real person without verified consent, including deceased people.
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or content that promotes self-harm.
  • Illegal goods or services, fraud, or laundering money through gifts.
  • Scraping the service, circumventing rate limits, or reselling access to our APIs.
  • Using an ALTR to claim it is human, or presenting its output as a real person’s statement.

8. Gifts, credits, prices, and what you keep

Fans can send gifts and pay for messages. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.

A gift buys digital content and access, not a physical good and not a promise of a reply. Because it is delivered immediately, a gift is not refundable except where the law requires a refund or where we decide to make one.

Credit top-ups are different. Within 7 days of a top-up you can ask us to refund the part of it you have not spent — credits you have already used on messages, images, or gifts are not refundable. Ask from your transaction history; a person reviews the request and, if it is approved, the unused amount goes back to the card you paid with. Nothing is refunded automatically, and refunded credits are removed from your balance.

Creators keep 70% of every gift and 20% of per-message revenue — a message costs us AI time, so that share is lower. The rest covers payment processing, AI costs, and running the service. If those shares change we will tell you before the change applies to money you have not yet earned.

Chargebacks and fraudulent payments may be deducted from a creator’s balance.

9. Getting paid

Payouts go through Stripe. Stripe collects your identity, bank details, and tax forms directly, and its own terms apply to that relationship.

You are responsible for your own taxes. Where the law requires it we issue tax forms, but we do not give tax advice.

We may hold a payout while we investigate fraud, a chargeback, or a credible report, and we will tell you when we do.

10. Ending this

You can delete your ALTR or close your account whenever you want. Money already earned stays payable, subject to the checks above.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, exposes us to legal risk, or has been dormant for a long time. Where we can, we tell you why and give you a chance to respond.

11. No warranty, and the limit of what we owe

The service is provided “as is”. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that an ALTR will behave exactly as you imagined.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars. We are not liable for lost profits, lost earnings, or indirect damages.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Before filing anything, write to us at support@brnd.company and give us thirty days to work it out. If that fails, the courts of Delaware have exclusive jurisdiction, unless the law of your home country gives you a right you cannot waive.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. When a change matters, we will say so on the site and update the date at the top before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new version.
